Pumping station takes shape
The pumping station complex for the LytteltonWoolston L.P.G. pipeline, which is taking shape at Naval Point in Lyttelton. The complex, being built by the Christchurch firm, M. L. Paynter, Ltd, for Liquigas, Ltd, is expected to be completed in August. It will house three L.P.G. pumps designed to boost the pressure of the gas for its
transportation by pipeline over the Port Hills to the Woolston depot. The complex will also house monitoring equipment and pumps and water storage for fire fighting. The first shipment of L.P.G. in the Tarihiko is expected at the port soon after the project’s completion in August.
