Mill riggers back on job

PA Auckland Riggers who have been on strike at the N.Z. Steel mill expansion site at Glenbrook this week are expected to return to work today. The 160 men walked off the job on Monday because of an argument over the refusal of a site contractor to employ a rigger. The assistant secretary of the Northern Labourers’ Union, Mr Ray Bianchi, said yesterday that an agreement in principle had been reached with N.Z. Steel Development, Ltd, and that there would, be a full return to work.
