Sutton catalogue

A masters student in Art History at the University of Canterbury is looking for anybody who owns early works by the Canterbury artist, William Sutton. Miss Sarah Rennie has chosen Mr Sutton as the subject for her thesis in Art History. Before embarking on the

thesis, Miss Rennie is compiling a catalogue of all Mr Sutton’s works, for her own and for future reference at the School of Fine Arts. Miss Rennie said that a complete catalogue of the works, and where they were, would enable her to write more comprehensively about Mr Sutton.

The earlier Works of Mr Sutton, in the 19405, were those which were proving difficult to find, she said. Miss Rennie was also looking for people who attended the Canterbury School of Fine Arts with Mr Sutton in the 19305, and those who were taught by him after that.
