NZPA-AP Sao Paulo After being disqualified for using his head instead of his fists to hit his opponent, a Brazilian light-heavy-weight boxer, Pedro Ferraro, turned on the referee and knocked him out. According to the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper, Ferraro was disqualified on Sunday by the referee, Jose Conrado, for butting his adversary twice. Annoyed with the referee’s decision, Ferraro slugged Conrado twice — once in the chin and once in the head and knocked him
unconscious. Ferraro’s opponent was a Chilean, Urbano Carvalho, 'who, during the bout in Sao Paulo gymnasium, was cheered by his fans with shouts of “make believe you’re punching Pinochet,” the newspaper said. General Augusto Pinochet is the President of Chile. After he recovered from the blows, Conrado was approached by Ferraro who cried and said he was sorry. The referee embraced the boxer who cried some more on Conrado’s shoulders, the newspaper added.
