Marist get senior cricket
Marist has won its battle for inclusion in the Canterbury Cricket Association’s senior competiton. A meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association’s management committee last evening agreed to give Marist the opportunity of playing in the senior competition for a two year period of assessment.
The meeting, held in-com-mittee, accepted a motion from a special sub-commit-
tee that the team be given the chance to play senior cricket. The vote was not unanimous.
The format for next season’s competition will be decided at a later date, possibly in two or three months time. The C.C.A. has also announced its Shell selectors for next season. Cran Bull, the present Canterbury captain, will join Tony Mac Gibbon (convener) and Brian Salt, the two incumbents.
