ROAD ENGINEER CONTRACT APPOINTMENT for logging industry research project, New Zealand Logging Industry Research Association. ■» LIRA is an industry and Government funded organisation engaged in practical research to improve the efficiency, productivity and safety of the logging Industry. LIRA has defined a 3 year research project to study and report on logging road standards in the New Zealand Forest Industry. In the final stages, the project will link up with LIRA’S parallel research work in log trucking to provide a comprehensive review of logging road transportation system. To carry out this work LIRA wishes to hire an experienced Roading Engineer on a contract or secondment basis. The engineer would have had at least 5 years experience in road construction and maintenance, preferably in the forest Industry and hold appropriate qualifications to certificate or graduate level, preferably with registration. The secondee would need Initiative and the ability to work with the minimum of technical supervision. The job is based in Rotorua and the term of appointment would be negotiable from a minimum of 18 months to a maximum of 3 years.
