Applications are now invited for the position Safety Officer in the Safety and Security Section of Relations Department. The successful applicant will report to the Superintendent, Safety and Security, and will be responsible for provision of day-to-day monitoring, advice and assistance in accident prevention, fire protection and industrial hygiene in the Motunui plant. The Corporation places significant emphasis on safety awareness and high safety standards. The Safety Officer will therefore be required to continually review safety requirements, to conduct safety inspection programmes and identify and investigate potential safety hazards and accidents. The incumbent will also develop and implement safety training procedures, emergency plans and industrial hygiene programmes. The preparation of reports on safety and environmental matters will form an important aspect of ' the Safety Officer’s role.
