Folay to resume

Special correspondent Invercargill The well-performed steeplechaser, Folay, did not, as was earlier expected, run at Riverton at Easter, but will be seen in action at Invercargill on Monday week. Folay, now nine, had his last; run at a totalisator meeting at Waimate in July. He pulled up sore after finishing a gallant second, but recovered after a spell and was a winner at the Mokoreta point-to-point on Sunday, April 15. His owner-trainer, Rex Cochrane, declined to run him at Riverton, and said yesterday that he was far from impressed with the weighting of the Trelay gelding. “He keeps getting the top weight and having to give poundage to horses like Royal Kassel (the winner of the last Grand National). I’m far from impressed,” said Cochrane.
