Protest march
Thousands of Canadians marched through Vancouver and Toronto to protest against United States testing of cruise nuclear missiles in their country. The march was called by more than 200 groups, including churches, trade unions and opposition politicians. Organisers reported 115,000, in Vancouver and 10,000 in Toronto, but the police put the figures at 40,000 and 3000.—Montreal.
