Government of Papua New Guinea "t-<jy Department of Health Applications are invited for the following positions: Senior Specialist Medical Officer (Radiology) Level 25 The appointee will act as a Specialist Medical Officer in charge of Radiology at the Port Moresby General Hospital; organise, supervise and advise on all matters relating to the provision and development of radiological services within Papua New Guinea; inspect and report on standard of radiological services in Departmental and Mission Medical Establishments; advise the Assistant Director (Medical Training) on the radiological training of para medical students, Resident and other Medical Officers; and prepare requests for publication, periodicals and AD-HOC reports. The applicant must be registered as a Specialist Medical Practitioner (Radiology) under the Medical Services Act; possess appropriate post-graduate qualifications and wide practical experience relevant to the above. Specialist Medical Officer (Anaesthetics) Level 22 The appointee will administer major anaesthetics at a base hospital; train Health Officers and other Health staff in the administration of anaesthetics, supervise the maintenance of anaesthetics equipment; and undertake tours of duty to major centres to administer anaesthetics for elective surgery. The applicant must be registered as a Specialist Medical Practitioner (Anaesthetics) under the Medical Services Act; possess appropriate post-graduate qualifications and wide practical experience relevant to the above. Specialist Medical Officer (Physiciao) Level 22 The appointee will provide consultation, treatment and management of all patients that come within his area of responsibility; undertake regular visits to other hospitals and health centres for the purpose of patient management and further training of staff; carry out appropriate research work into ways of improving methods concerning treatments and management of patients; advise the Departmental Head on major policy matters pertaining to the standard care provided in hospitals, health centres, aid posts, and to various health improvement programmes. The applicant must be registered as a Specialist Medical Practitioner under the Medical Services Act; possess appropriate post-graduate qualifications and wide practical experience relevant to the above.
