Polytech organises software seminars

Christchurch Polytechnic has announced details of its new seminar series on microcomputer packages that will be held over the next four months.

The six sessions will provide a detailed introduction to major categories of microcomputer software packages, including datamanagement packages, word-processing packages, spreadsheet packages and accounting packages. Each afternoon session will generally cover one category of software. There is a $5O fee for each session, with a fee for the series of $2OO. One Christchurch computer supplier, Computercorp, Ltd, intends to send its customers on these seminars rather than hold training courses itself. Computercorp will give customers who buy a software package a voucher to cover the cost of the appropriate seminar. This month the Polytechnic will also hold a two-day workshop on designing spreadsheet models. Three series of the Polytechnic’s popular “Microcomputer Systems for Small Businesses” seminar will be held this year.
