Car crash kills man
A young Christchurch man was killed when the car in which he was travelling struck a fence near the intersection of Fendalton Road and Wairarapa Terrace about 6.30 a.m. yesterday. He was Mervyn Herbert, aged 24, recently of 25 Arran
Crescent, Linwood. Mr Herbert was taken by St John ambulance to Christchurch Hospital, but was found to be dead on arrival. Another young man in the car suffered minor injuries in the accident.
