Yachting to Hobden
Allan Hobden, of Christchurch, won the New Zea-, land Marblehead class model yachting championships held on Lake Victoria, over Easter. Hobden mastered the difficult light wind conditions and conceded only three points over the series. There were 16 entries for the event, competitors coming from Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. Results:
Allan Hobden (Christchurch), Kolanu, 3 points, 1; lan HullBrown (Wellington), Bufo, 11.7, 2; Henk Binsbergen (Christchurch), Clear Winner, 22.7, 3; Hugh Hobden (Christchurch), 29.7, 4. Provisional results for the New Zealand vane championships, held as a one-day event, were: Allan Hobden, Golden Arrow, 34, 1; Gavin Britt, Sans Sousci, 33, 2.
