Arson at two schools

Fires which caused damage totalling thousands of dollars at two schools at the week-end were lit deliberately, the police said last evening. The police were investigating blazes at Beachhaven Primary School and Sutton Park School, Mangere. Fire destroyed a classroom and badly damaged another at the Beachhaven school on Saturday night. Detectives investigating the Mangere fire said they believed papers in a classroom were set alight. One classroom was destroyed.
