Burrowes top seed
Maurice Burrowes, the outstanding table tennis player in Canterbury last year, has won top seeding for the first significant tournament of 1984, the Easter Open, which will be held at the Selwyn Street hall today. In a field slightly larger than last year, Burrowes is placed ahead of his younger brother, Michael, with the veteran, John Armstrong, seeded third and Lyndon White fourth.
Another seasoned competitor, Thelma May, is the top seed for the women’s event, followed by Sandra Mayes, Monique van der Aa and Jackie Cotter. The tournament will be run on a round robin system
