R. Alfeld suspended

Rickie Alfeld had his horseman’s licence suspended until after May 5 at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting at Addington Raceway on Saturday. Alfeld, the driver of King Turk in the “100” Pipers Stakes, was found guilty of causing interference to Young Boyden, causing that horse to break and lose all chance, 50m from the finish. King Turk, which finished second, was disqualified from his placing. Richard Brosnan, the driver of Loveridge in the New Zealand Welcome Stakes, was fined $lOO for moving out and checking Folie Bergere, which broke, with 200 m to run.
