Keegan for Aintree?

NZPA-Reuter Newcastle The former England soccer captain, Kevin Keegan, said at the week-end he hoped to ride in the Grand National Steeplechase at Aintree next year after his retirement from the game at the end of this season.

The former Liverpool, Hamburg, and Southampton striker now pijys for the second division side, Newcastle United.

Keegan told a television interviewer, Derek Thompson: “It is a serious thing. Obviously I’ve got a lot of work to do but it is an ambition of mine.” Keegan has been a horse racing fan for many years. He breeds horses with another former England soccer international, Mike Channon,. who now plays for the first division club, Norwich City.
