Easy rugby win to Sydney over Fiji
NZPA-AAP Sydney Sydney maintained its 10year unbeaten record against touring national rugby teams with a 38-14 win over Fiji at Concord Oval, Sydney, on Saturday afternoon.
By half-time Sydney led 18-nil. converted tries to the five-eighths. Mark Ella, the replacement centre. GaryElla, and the half-back, Phillip Cox, and continued to play fast, open football to lead 30-0 mid-way through the second half. The back rowers. foundation for Sydney’s win. getting to the loose ball quickly and producing some devastating tackles against their bigger opponents. Once Sydney began to tire late in the match the Fijians' natural flair and unorthodox passing resulted in three entertaining tries. The Sydney centre. Matt Burke, left the field after eight minutes with a head wound and was replaced by Gary Ella. For Fiji, the centre.
