Hart advertisement
Sir,—ln defence of Hart, I take exception to recent letters labelling its activities as Marxist and quoting Scripture. Surely Christianity should not be divisive but reconciliatory. The verse that comes to mind is Saint Paul’s: In Christ Jesus there is neither bond nor freeman, Jew nor Greek, male nor female (black nor white). We are all to try to understand the other, and put ourselves in his/her shoes. The other day I was speaking to a highly qualified nurse. If she was still in South Africa she would be receiving a junior nurse’s pay, but in New Zealand she is on one of the highest wages, as her position demands. The only reason she left South Africa was because her services were not paid for as she merited — because she was black.—Yours, etc., G. H. BOSTON. April 19, 1984.
