New Zealand House restaurant

Sir, — The answer the Minister of Overseas Trade, Mr Warren Cooper, gave to Mike Moore on marketing New Zealand by a New Zealand House restaurant and enterprise shop was that it did not appeal to his sense of commercial realism. New Zealand has a prime piece of international real estate in the Haymarket, London, which is not being used for the benefit of New Zealanders. As a self-pro-claimed private enterprise man, Mr Cooper should look beyond the fact that Mike Moore is his opposite number and realise that the National Government and its Ministers do not have a mortgage on all the good ideas that will benefit New Zealand. The present competitive trading world needs marketing expertise, not facetious tinkerers. — Yours, etc.,

GRAEME STANLEY. April 18, 1984.
