THE AUSTRALIAN FOUNDATION ON ALCOHOL ANO DRUB DEPENDENCE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Canberra The Foundation is a community based organisation which receives substantial funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health. It is representative on a national basis of State and Territory associations and groups concerned with drug dependence and substance abuse. The Board of Directors has recently undertaken a review of its activities and its future role. DUTIES: The Executive Director is the senior officer of the Foundation with responsibilities for the administration of the Secretariat and Its programmes. The successful applicant will be required to advise the Board of Directors on its policies and programme development. It is expected that the appointee shall have proven administrative and managerial skills and the ability to administer a substantial budget. Experience in the alcohol and drug area, research and evaluation is not essential but would be an advantage. REMUNERATION: Conditions of service are similar to those applying to the Commonwealth Public Service and a superannuation scheme is available. Salary is negotiable to $33,800. A car will be provided for use on Foundation business. The appointee will be required to travel interstate and, possibly, overseas.
