Basketbailers out
Chris Dobbs and Lance Dixon will be missing from the 3ZM Canterbury men’s basketball team to play a series of games against the Nelson league side at Nelson over the week-end. Dobbs is still not fully fit from a stress fracture and Dixon, who missed the game against Otago last Saturday because of personal commitments, is in a similar position this weekend. The squad is the same which was beaten by Otago. It is: Clyde Huntley (captain), Andy Bennett, John Hill, Dave Usmar, Bert
Knops, Korry Ritsma, Dave Edmonds, John Rademakers, lan Webb, and Paul Hobbs. Two games will be played today and if the honours are shared a third match is possible tomorrow. Webb, Hill, and Edmonds will take part in the New Zealand training camp in Wellington at Easter, and will miss Canterbury’s match on Saturday, April 21, against an invitation All Stars team. The coach, Darrel Todd, said yesterday that he would not call on any other players to fill the gaps.
