Situations Vacant Situations Vacant New Zealand Electricity A division of the Ministry of Energy NEW PLYMOUTH POWER STATION CAREERS IN STEAM POWER PLANT OPERATION NEW PLYMOUTH THE ELECTRICITY DIVISION of the Ministry of Energy is seeking persons for the position of Auxiliary Plant Operator for the New Plymouth Power Station. THE POSITION: The Auxiliary Plant Operator assists in the operation and monitoring of a 120 MW gas/oil fired generating unit and auxilliaries. APPLICANTS: Suitable applicants will hold a First Class Engine Driver’s Certificate or 3rd Class Marine Engineers Certificate or have served a Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship in an approved workshop. Preference will be given to those that have held positions of responsl illty with a record of sound performance. Every assistance and encouragement will be given with study rewards the required qualifications. Divisional Training courses are conducted for all levels of development and successful appointees will be required to attend. THE PROSPECTS: Promotion is available to higher operating positions either at New Plymouth or other Stations such as Huntly. THE PAY AND CONDITIONS: An attractive salary and average pay allowance, plus special Station leave is provided. Public Service conditions of employment apply.
