The appointee will be responsible for the co-ordination, analysis and drafting of the annual gas sector forecast and plan. This work will involve investigations into New Zealand's oil and gas reserves, establishment of gas production and deliverability, evaluation of potential gas uses, in particular natural gas liquids extraction proposals. The successful applicant will be expected to implement and further develop computer models. QUALIFICATIONS: A university degree with a content of either science, engineering, information science or economics is desirable. The appointee should have proven written communication skills and the ability to work without close supervision. (2) Vacancy 2162 Assistant Investigating Officer or Investigating Officer DUTIES: The appointee will be a member of the Ministry's Research and Development Directorate and will be involved in the collection, compilation and review of information on energy related research and development and the preparation of reports and programmes on research and development requirements to support proposed energy developments. QUALIFICATIONS: An appropriate tertiary qualification is desirable. An interest or experience with information database compilation would be an advantage.
