Railway staff

Sir,—During the last few weeks I have made several trips by rail from Christchurch to Kaikoura and to Picton. It has been a great pleasure to see how friendly and helpful the railway staff have been. As well as the guards, a locomotive driver who took over the passenger unit from Kaikoura to Picton, was most helpful with handling my luggage, etc., which can create quite a problem for the over, 65-year-old brigade. — Yours, etc., W. H. ROBINSON. April 12, 1984.
