N.Z. Army Band
Sir —I had the privilege to be escorting a blind friend last evening to the dress rehearsal by the New Zealand Army Band in the Town Hall. Also present were groups of elderly citizens and the intellectually handicapped, and it was a joy to see the pleasure all groups derived from the evening. Not only was the band excellent, but the Army had provided a ramp for wheelchairs, which assisted the blind and elderly, and members of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps were in attendance to assist the disabled. It was a wonderful exercise in public relations of which the Army can be proud.— Yours, etc., MRS NESSA NEWMAN. April 13, 1984.
