No arrest in gang clash

The Timaru police have made no arrest after the seizing of firearms from the headquarters of two motorcycle gangs which clashed in Timaru on Tuesday evening. A .32 pistol, a sawn-off shotgun and a sawn-off .22 rifle were found at the Road Knights Motor-Cycle Club headquarters in Theodosia Street. All the firearms were loaded, and ammunition was seized by the police. Two cannabis “bullets” were also found. Another sawn-off shotgun and a full-length shotgun,

both loaded, were found at the Devil’s Henchmen headquarters at Washdyke, with shotgun cartridges. Tuesday evening’s attack on a house where Devil’s Henchmen members were having a dinner party resulted in Brent John Gudsell, aged 26, being shot in the leg. He was still in hospital last evening, but his condition was not available. Two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the house, slightly damaging two cars parked outside the property. The police are continuing inquiries.
