Only one drink
NZPA-Reuter Vinsobres
The Mayor of the small village of Vinsobres in the Cote du Rhone wine-grow-ing region backed a Government campaign against alcoholism by banning all drinks at a local wine festival — except wine. The penalty for defying the order was to buy a glass of wine for all 2000 festival visitors.
“It was a great success,” said the Mayor, Mr Georges Delhomme. “Not a single whisky was drunk all day.”
