Talbot profit
Talbot U.k. has declared a £3.1 million profit for the 1982-83 year. This compares with a £45.7 million loss the Sirevious year and accumuated losses of more than £390 million in the last decade.
A significant improvement in sales of elderly c.k.d. Hillman Hunter packs to Iran played a large part in the turnround achieved by the Peugeot-owned comS Nearly 88,000 Hunter were exported. Although Talbot experienced a 5 per cent increase in British sales, the company’s market share dropped from 4.87 to 4.44 per cent Peugeot has been sufficiently encouraged, however, to spend £2O million modernising the Ryton plant, near Coventry, where it will build a new range of cars.
