TOP: A Christchurch composer, Philip Norman, conducts his Car Horn Concerto, Opus 2, in Cathedral Square yesterday as part of the Christchurch Festival. Mr Norman used a screwdriver as his baton and stood on two spare tyres to conduct the lunchtime concerto. BOTTOM: A 1928 Dodge plays the lead horn in the concerto with three horns at a different pitch. Twenty cars took part in the concerto, the second which Mr Norman has composed and performed.
