University Vacancies The University of the South Pacific PROFESSOR OF AGRICULTURE AND PRO-VICE-CHANCELLOR OF THE ALAFUA CAMPUS (Post 84/39) APPLICATIONS are invited for. the above post located at the University's Alafua Campus in Western Samoa. This is a single post which combines the present duties of the Professor of Agriculture and Dean of the Campus. The professorship is provided to integrate all aspects of agriculture in a single discipline. Candidates should have successful experience In agricultural education and research, particularly in tropical or sub-tropical environments; familiarity with the training of extension workers also desirable. As Pro-Vlce-Chancel-lor, he will be chief executive officer and will carry the delegated authority of the Vice-Chancellor to administer all aspects of the Alafua Campus on which are located the University School of Agriculture and Institute of Research, Extension and Training in Agriculture. This is a challenging and complex management task. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience in the professorial range: F 52437625,952. In addition the University provides gratuity amounting to 15 per cent of basic salary, appointment allowance and, subject to the Univerity’s current housing policy, partly furnished accommodation at a rental of 12% per cent of salary. The University will pay an allowance In lieu of superannuation of 10 per cent of standard salary. In some cases this allowance may be paid direct to the appointee’s existing superannuation scheme subject to a decision on acceptability of the scheme by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue.
