Broken marriages

Sir,—As a Christian woman, I can understand radical feminists destroying both the Bible and the

fairy Story of Snow White. In a world in which broken marriages have reached epidemic proportions, millions of children are being cared for by stepmothers. Why terrify children with fairy stories of cruel stepmothers, creating problems for these women? It is from the Bible that the Catholic Church justifies its ban on all forms of contraception other than natural methods. The unreliability of this form of birth control is well known and millions of Catholic women using it found neither blessing nor peace but suffered years of severe mental stress, extreme physical exhaustion and even death from constant pregnancies. Neither did all these marriages last. Today this ban still stands and is enforced on the trusting impoverished women of the Third World. Who cares? Christian women or radical feminists?—Yours, etc.,

MARY JOHNS. March 5, 1984.
