Women’s bowls titles

The eight teams which got through the first three postsection rounds yesterday in the Christchurch women’s bowls open fours were survivors in more ways than one. It was just on 7 p.m. when the last game ended and for those involved in the third round it was a day of between nine and 10 hours bowling, a long day even in temperatures lower than yesterday’s. But, according to one official, no-one keeled over. “It just goes to show how hardy they are,” she said.
