Reward increased
PA Auckland An Ellerslie man is offering an increased reward of >l5OO to find a man who brutally attacked a schoolgirl six months ago. The victim, aged 17, was raped and badly beaten as she walked along railway lines behind the softball Sark in New North Road, It Albert, on September 14. The businessman, who asked not to be named, said he hoped the extra $5OO reward would obtain in-
formation leading to the rapist’s conviction. He offered a $lOOO reward three weeks after the attack.
He felt there was a chance the money would induce someone to come forward and solve the “shocking case.” Detective Sergeant Leon Vidler of the Avondale C. 1.8. said a detective was still working on the case, but the police have no firm suspects.
