School music
Entries are now being accepted for the 1984 Westpac School Music Contest. They are expected to exceed 2800, making an all time record. Entries for the contest, which is open to groups of musicians from secondary schools throughout New Zealand, close on Sunday, April 8. The contest, which is being run along similar
lines to last year,/consists of three sections: instrumental, vocal and original composition. District finals for both the instrumental and vocal sections will be held in June. At the conclusion of the district final up to six instrumental and two vocal groups will be chosen to go forward to the national final to be held on August 11.
