’• The story', originally’written by L. P. Hartley, has been adapted for television by Alan Plater. '• Carol Royle plays a young party guest, Maggie Winthrop, with Peter Machin as Anthony Fairchild, her fiance, and Heather Chasen is Eileen Turnbull. Samantha Gates appears as the ghost, Lady Elinor.
