Charity golf tournament
Play-offs were needed in both the men’s and women's sections to decide the winners of the main trophies in the Kaiapoi Golf Club’s charity tournament on Sunday. The field of 129 raised money for the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind and enabled it to buy 20 talking clocks for distribution among its members. The fund was boosted by a generous donation from a club member, Mr Reid
Main prize winners were:— Men.— Senior (first prize) D. Gladiadus; gross: P. Clarkson; net N. Eder, stableford: C. Dailey. Intermediate (gross): A. J. Brown; net J. Guy; stableford: K. Pope. Junior (gross): J. Fox; net: P. Thompson; stableford: B. Wilson.
Women.— First prize: Teresa Jones; gross: Mrs M. Monk; net Mrs J. Osborne; stableford: Mrs J. Dwyer.
