Pebble Relay race
The Reese brothers, Andrew and Daniel, figured prominently in the Pebble Relay, organised by the Canterbury Road Running Committee. Andrew was in the winning three-man Anglican team while Daniel was in the University team which took the fastest time: Forty-two teams took part in the event, in which each of three runners in a team runs two laps, but not successive laps. A pebble is used instead of a baton. The relay starts at St Martins and follows the foot
of the Port Hills, up Evans Pass, along the Summit Road, and finishes at the Sign of the Kiwi. Results.— Handicap: Anglican (N. Powell, G. Seddon, A.
