Canterbury golf title to Turner, Ross
George Turner and Jeanette Ross, who shared the 1983 Canterbury mixed foursomes golf title, were the outright winners of this year’s championship at Harewood on Sunday. After the morning round, the joint winners last year, John Parlane and Alison Doell, and the Waitikiri pairing, John McCormick and Dianne Woodhouse, held the lead with rounds of 76.
However. Turner and Mrs Ross added a second round of 75 to their opening 77 and took the title by a shot from McCormick and Miss Woodhouse.
