NZPA-AP New York < A painting by the nineteenth century English artist, J. M. w. Turner, has brought $NZ361,900 at auction, a record for a water-colour, according to a spokesman for the Sotheby’s i Gallery. “The buyer was a private
collector who wished to remain anonymous,” said the spokesman, Joseph Dougherty. Mr Dougherty said Turner considered the painting his best landscape. The art critic, John Ruskin, once called it the best Swiss landscape yet painted by man. .£•
