Oyster haul begins
PA Invercargill Bluffs oyster fleet made big harvests on the season’s opening day yesterday. The 23-boat Bluff fleet returned with good catches about midday so that factories could start oyster opening. Invercargill’s fish shops
had good supplies in readiness for the dinner time demand. North Island supplies should be on sale today. Southland retailers are charging the same price as last year — $2.04 for a dozen raw oysters, and 25c a cooked oyster.
