Free open-air concert
The Christchurch Festival free open-air concert will be held in North Hagley Park tomorrow afternoon. The artists will use an existing stage near Victoria Lake. They include Polyphony, an Australian comic vocal harmony group, Limbs Dance Company and a band of local jazz musicians. The latter replaces the Widespread Jazz
Orchestra which cancelled its New Zealand appearance this week. The local group is Stu Buchanan and his lb-piece band, Jigsaw. The concert will start at 2 p.m. The festival’s events manager, John Page, said that the concert was aimed at a family audience. If wet, cancellations will be broadcast on Radio Avon.
