Town Hall organ
Sir,—l am disappointed at the attitude taken by the Town Hall Board of Management towards a pipe organ .for the Town Hall. To my way of thinking the Town Hall will not We. completed until the organ is installed. As a choir, we have in the past used a pipe organ as an integral part of our programming, but the transfer to the Town Hall for our concerts has meant that we have had to drop most of the classical music from our repertoire as you cannot perform Handel with just piano accompaniment. Let us see some initiative from the board in pursuing the fund-raising necessary to install a pipe organ, thus completing a so-far unfinished Town Hall. We would be willing to help, maybe in taking part in a series of fund-raising concerts along with other city choirs and interested groups.—Yours, etc., RUSSEL MARSH, Celebration Singers, Christchurch.
