Discrimination against women
Sir, — Unfortunately, Ms E. Smith is misinformed on the subject of the Tasmanian schoolbooks removed and destroyed by radical feminist censorship, although some had only been presented to the library six months previously. Aftei hearing the pre-recorded programme broadcast, Mrs Francis announced publicly that the Radio New Zealand interview was edited
in such a way that the letter she read as proof of her statements was completely omitted. Many people who have requested investigation and vindication of Mrs Francis are currently awaiting replies from Radio New Zealand. Incidentally, having had its eyes opened to the discrimination involved in “hon-sexism,” the •Tasmanian Education Department has replaced it with equal opportunity for men and women as official policy. This we can all applaud. — Yours, etc., (Mrs) J. NIHONIHO. 1 February 29, 1984.
