New drama series
The final episode in the present repeat series of “The Sweeney” will be screened on Two tonight. Regan and Carter will be replaced next week by a new 13-part drama series about a gang of building workers who head for Germany in search of employment. Dick Clement and lan La Frenais have been responsible for two of the truly classic comedy series of recent years, “The Likely Lads” and “Porridge.” Now, with their first original work for British television in five years, they have written “Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.”
