Pre-season soccer
Shamrock and Western drew, 1-1, in the main game of the Rangers-King Leo pre-season soccer tournament at Rangers Park last evening. Shamrock took the lead midway through the first half when Duncan Bean scored from close range. Matt Eggleston equalised for Western after the interval. Western and Christchurch United each have two points from their section, while Shamrock and Cashmere
Wanderers have one point. However, Christchurch and Cashmere each have one fixture in hand. In the early match, Nomads United and Woolston W.M.C. played out a scoreless draw. In that section New Brighton and Nomads have two points each, although Brighton has a match in hand — Rangers and Woolston have one point each and Rangers has a match in hand.
