Computer ‘crazy’
NZPA-AFP Lyons A crazy computer has sent out between 20,000 and 30,000 traffic tickets by mistake in the Lyons area of central France this year. Some motorists have received whole stacks of fines of 120 francs and 250 francs ($22 and $46) not meant for them. Others have been sent reminders concerning cars of the same make as theirs but with a different number. Lyons court officials, submerged with telephone calls, say “the computer has gone wrong and fines can be ignored for the time being.”
