Wellington captain retires
PA Wellington The Wellington and Maori All Black rugby captain, Paul Quinn, has announced his retirement. Quinn played 106 firstclass games for Wellington, taking over the captaincy at the end of the 1980 season.
Murray Mexted is expected to replace Quinn as the Wellington captain. Quinn led Wellington to its 1981 Ranfurly Shieldnational provincial championship double, a first. Quinn, aged 33, captained the Maoris on their tour last year of Wales and Spain.
