Veteran runners reach half-way

A team of eight veteran runners has reached the half-way point in a round-the-South Island fund-rais-ing relay. They left Dunedin on February 17 and have been running about 100 km a day. They will run from Blenheim to Kaikoura today, and from Kaikoura to Amberley tomorrow, arriving in Christchurch about midday on Friday

The runners are collecting money to give to the Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Federation to help send a team to the World Disabled Games in the United States from June 19 to July 4.

Six of the runners are from Dunedin, while Bill Temby and Matt Bennie are both members of the Rovers Harrier Club of Christchurch. The team will complete the 2100 km relay when it arrives in Dunedin on March 5.
