27 arrests
Twenty-seven people were arrested after a demonstration in London by 2000 Kashmiris. They were protesting against the execution in India of the leader of their independence campaign, Magbool Butt. Most of the arrests came when marchers staged a sitdown protest near India House, when they were not allowed to pass the door of the building. There were no injuries.—London.
